Catalonia loses 20% of tourism in 4Q2017 due to political instability

The tourist association Exceltur estimates to 1,200 million euros lost to tourism in Catalonia compared to the same period in 2016 from 1 October with a referendum ordered without legal support by the independentistas. Already these past and possible new altercations have influenced and will affect the tourist image and public order in Catalonia, and have caused falls of all tourist activity to around 15% since the beginning of October.

This instability is only affecting Catalonia with several events that are moving to Madrid.
